1000 word reflective article on conference theme
Authors will have the option to write opinion pieces (style of the Conversation, openDemocracy, Counterpunch, IRIN, PreventionWeb etc. in less than 1000 words). These are articles where you are not reporting your research findings.
These articles must be written in a more journalistic style and refrain from using jargon! They will be subjected to a peer-review process involving the scientific committee. We will encourage and provide advice to authors for submission to media outlets after i-Rec 2019.
Make sure to check out the conference theme and tracks before proceeding to abstract submission!
Proposals should be no more than 200 words and include:
Whether you are proposing a) an academic paper, b) a science communication article, c) an opinion piece or d) a creative practice output
An indication of the relevant track (A-E);
Background on the state of the issue to be addressed;
A simple explanation of the methods used or sources of information;
A summary of the results found and their practical and/or theoretical implications.
